Went to many area dirt tracks and was thrilled to see Herbie race. He was always one to watch make the run to the front. I would check the area tracks websites and newspapers after moving out of the area to check results. Herbie left a helluva legacy and his final induction to the Forever Hall of Fame is a well earned one. Take the checkers one more time Herb!

Race on #48.... So many wonderful memories of a great guy and a great racer.
One memory I recall was after a tough race and car troubles at Smethport (circa 1956). When we met him after the races, he was notably upset but in good humor. His words were "I´d like to sell the dam thing for 30 cents". I recall those words and the the laughs for the night. Of course he was back the next week full of energy and excitement ready for the next race.
He and Imy were good friends with my Mom and Dad and we had several meals together in Allentown.

RIP Uncle Herbie, say Hello to some of the family and Hug Aunt Imogene. You were a huge addition to our family. You stayed true to your wife n girls which is very commendable. Always knew we would hear a crazy joke whenever you visited, putting a smile and laughter on our faces- lighting up the room with a bit of fun. Fly high, race that car - no doubt your a winner
