June 10, 1949 – May 17, 2024
WELLSVILLE --- Howard L. Stives, 74 of Wellsville, NY, passed away on May 17, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (nee Bast) Stives. Dearest Father of Howard Stives Jr., Tracy (David) Kozlowski, and Jennifer (Arturo Ross) Stives and stepfather of Tonya Skiver. Loving grandfather of Madison and Michael Kozlowski, Torry Stives, and Damani, Trevor and Asia'na Crolle; Loving brother of Terry (Connie) Stives and brother-in-law to Leland Winchell Sr. Uncle to Leland, Jr. and Charles Winchell, Brandy and Danny (Jenny Dahill) Stives.
Howard was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Betty Stives and sister Nancy Winchell.
Howard was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the sport of stockcar racing. He worked for Mastel Ford in Olean as a mechanic for many years prior to his retirement.

There will be no services, a private interment will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are under direction of the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., Cuba.
