James Hubbard Obituary

James Milton Hubbard

BLISS - James Milton Hubbard, age 66, of Bliss, passed away Friday (Nov. 15, 2024) at Roswell Cancer Institute, after battling lung cancer.

He was born Jan. 27, 1958, in Hornell, son of Elizabeth McVey Hubbard and the late Milton Eugene Hubbard.

Jim was a graduate of Rushford Central School.

With his love of farming, he worked for Younger Farm, Barber Farm, Don Beck Inc., Broughton Farm and TPi Arcade. Jim was a farmer at heart. He truly enjoyed his animals, of which he had many through the years including dogs, horses, steer and last but not least, goats.

Along with his mother, Jim is survived by his wife, Julia Pierce Hubbard of Bliss; his son, Kenneth Hubbard of Warsaw; his daughter, Jamie Hubbard of East Arcade; his stepsons, Kevin (Marie) Shearing of Gainesville and Travis (Julie) Shearing of Dayton, Ohio; his brothers, Thomas (Billie) Hubbard of 29 Palms, Calif., David (Sheryl) Hubbard of Washington state and Robert (Cathy Malloy) Hubbard of Fillmore; his sister, Meredith Hubbard of Cuba; and his best friend/ex-brother-in-law, Doug Morse.

In keeping with Jim's wishes, there will be no service or celebration of life.

Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bliss Fire Department, 6655 Rt. 362, Bliss, NY 14024; or to Animal Friends of Wyoming County, 4380 Rt. 19, Silver Springs, NY 14550.

Jimmy was one heck of a second baseman for my softball team and our four man pickup basketball team at the Bliss Gym was unstoppable when jimmy played.
