Jane Guest Obituary
RUSHFORD - Jane S. Guest passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at the age of 91.
She was born in Buffalo on Aug.15, 1930, the daughter of Benjamin and Clara Runckel. In Rushford she met her husband, Robert R. "Bob" Guest, and married on Aug. 21, 1954.
She grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo State College with a teaching degree, specializing in home economics. Upon graduation, she moved to Rushford to become the home economics teacher at Rushford Central School.
Jane loved teaching home economics. She retired after over 30 years teaching at Rushford, along with teaching early childhood development at the newly created BOCES program in Belmont. She lead the FHA chapter and was a member of the Eastern Stars and Cynthian Club.
After raising their five children at their home on Rushford Lake, she and Bob moved to Allegany until he retired. They then followed a dream and moved to Arizona, but found it to be too far from their children and moved back to Ohio a few years later. Jane was so proud of each of her children, and she did not hesitate to share that with anyone she met.
She is survived by her five loving children, Robert A. (Trina) Guest of Green, Ohio, Jennifer A. (Jim) Swartz of Columbus, Ohio, Bruce L. (Deb) Guest of Baldwinsville, Todd R. Guest of Richmond Heights, Ohio and Aimee C. (Brian) Agett of Franklinville; eight loving grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Guest; her three siblings; and granddaughter, Sarah Guest Wheeler.
Cremation has taken place and all services will be private. Jane will be laid to rest with her husband at White Cemetery in Rushford.
