OLEAN -- Janice J. Snyder of Olean passed away peacefully after a short illness on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 24, 1940, in Coudersport, PA, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Sylvia Haskins. On October 17, 1959, she married Gerald R. Ayers, who predeceased her. On June 3, 1989, she married Gary R. Snyder, who also predeceased her.
Janice graduated from Coudersport High School and also attended Lock Haven University. After staying at home with her daughters until they went to school, she spent time as a nurse's aide before going to work at Acme Electric and then Cooper Power Systems, where she retired from after twenty years.
Janice loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and her love of baking. She was an excellent seamstress who also enjoyed crocheting afghans as gifts for the people she cared about. She enjoyed shopping with her girls, going to garage sales, and loved playing games with her children and grandchildren at family gatherings. In her later years, she enjoyed playing canasta and working on puzzles with her friends at Aspen Manor.
Janice is survived by her three daughters, Kim (Jeff) Harris, Brenda (Mike) Threehouse, and Pam (Tim) Bowser; three step-children, Chris (Kathy) Snyder, Carol (John) Gengo, and Cheryl (Graham) Welborn; her grandchildren, Kyle (Annie) Threehouse, Josh (Eden Thomas) Dubin, Tyler (Breanna) Threehouse, Lauren (Tyler) Taylor, Shawn Dubin, Luke (Bryn Milne) Bowser, Nick (Courtney) Gengo, Ashley Gengo, Kelsey Gengo, Jacob Snyder and Hannah Snyder; and many great grandchildren; a sister Beverly (Ed) Burkey;  a special niece, Penny (Rick) McCutcheon; nephews, Stacy Ayers, Mark (Peggy) Ayers, Scott Burkey and a niece Lisa (Todd) Larsen.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Gerald Ayers and Gary Snyder; her parents, Lloyd and Sylvia Haskins; a beloved sister, Sylvia (Beanie) Ayers; a brother-in-law, Stacy Ayers; and a niece, Tina Ayers-Goodell.
Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Some of my fondest childhood memories include spending time with Aunt Jannie, and my cousins, Pam, Brenda & Kim. When I think of Jannie & the girls I hear laughter, sweet treats, bottles of pop and dancing to the record player with my very cool cousins . I know she is celebrating with my dear grandparents, Sylvia & Lloyd and her sister Beanie. I am thankful for all the light & love Jannie shared with her family
