Jeffrey Miles Obituary
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Jeffrey A. Miles Sr., 70, of Daytona Beach, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.
He was born Dec. 8, 1954, at St. Francis Hospital in Olean, N.Y.
Jeffrey proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force active duty from 1972 to 1974 in Ellsworth Base, South Dakota. To follow, he began his lifelong career as foreman for Stroehmann's Bakery for 40 plus years. Upon retirement, went on to run the Lantern Motel in Allegany, N.Y.
Jeffrey found joy in the simple things - watching football, cold beer in hand, hanging poolside or hot tub, playing cards or sitting by a fire.
His favorite pastimes were the love of watching son Jeff 's high school football. He wouldn't miss a game! Also dragging Suz out on the dance floor any chance he got.
Jeffrey adored his many pets over the years who were always a part of the family. Most of all he loved spending time with those closest to him and would never pass up an opportunity for a little mischief or shenanigans to keep life exciting.
Jeffrey's life was one of love, laughter and dedication to hard work. His family and friends will carry on his stories, his jokes and his spirit for years to come.
He was the loving father of Jeffrey (Anne) Miles II and daughter Suzannah Miles; grandchildren, Alexis (Andrew), Joshua, Bret and Austin; stepsons, Aaron (Rebecca) Hooper, Timothy and Charles Charnisky; brothers, Kevin (Lisa) and Gary Miles; along with nieces, nephews and friends who will never forget his humor, stories and big heart.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Miles (2007); parents, Evelyn Paoliello and Claude Miles; and his brother, Michael P. Miles.
A burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at the St. Bernard Cemetery in Bradford, Pa. A celebration of Jeffrey's life will follow at noon at the St. Stephens Club, Olean, where all will raise a toast (fireball) in honor, because as he would say, "It's always five o'clock somewhere."
