John Arnold Obituary
OLEAN --- John B. 'Jack' Arnold, 89, Olean, passed away unexpectedly Friday (September 13, 2024) at Olean General Hospital.
Born April 29, 1935, in Olean, he was the son of Dean and Margaret Boland Arnold. On September 14, 1957, at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, he married his sweetheart Nancy A. Suda who survives.
Jack was a graduate of Allegany High School and served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957.
He worked at the former Leo's Market in Olean for 23 years but was most proud of his Arnold Apartment Building on Lauren Street, which he owned for 47 years.
He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and was devoted to the maintenance and upkeep of the shrine of St.Jude.
Surviving besides his wife are five children Denise (Max) Hayden of Chesapeake, VA, Nanette (Richard) Hogan of Amissville, VA, Sally (Michael) Manesiotis of Hilton Head, SC, Thomas (Michele) Arnold of Olean and John (Kristen) Arnold of Avon; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers.
The family will receive friends on Friday (September 20, 2024) from 5pm to 7pm at the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday (September 21, 2024) at 10am at St. Bonaventure Church. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

We always enjoyed Jack's visits to Chesapeake, especially when he and Max would come over and admire the shed and tell a story or two. He was quite the character, and I know you will all miss him terribly. Praying for your comfort and peace. Barb and Scott Russel
