John A. Farnham

GREAT VALLEY - John A. Farnham, 68, of Great Valley, passed away Friday (Oct. 3, 2025) at Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born Oct. 14, 1956, in Salamanca, the son of the late Alfred and Elaine Rider Farnham.

Mr. Farnham had been employed with the Cattaraugus Co. Highway Dept. and later at Philadelphia Furniture in Salamanca.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved gardening and riding horses. He also was a 1975 graduate of Little Valley High School.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Clark of Great Valley, with whom he has been together for 26 years. Also surviving is a daughter, Kelcie Farnham of Washington, D.C.; a stepdaughter, Casey (Brian) Button of Great Valley; two grandchildren, Lauren and Kaden Button; a niece, Christie Winship of Little Valley; a nephew, DJ Adams of Hollywood, Fla.; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Braden, Madisyn, Jaxyn and Olive.

He was predeceased by a sister, Cathy Adams.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Green Cemetery in Great Valley.

Memorials may be made to the Great Valley-Ellicottville Ambulance Service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., in Little Valley.
