Joyce "Joy" L. Lehosky

ELDRED, Pa. --- Joyce "Joy" L. Lehosky, 85, formerly of West Eldred Road, Eldred, PA, passed away December 28, 2023, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home in Bradford, PA. Her daughter-in-law was by her side.

Joyce was born April 22, 1938, at the Canonsburg Hospital in Canonsburg, PA to the late Anthony and Bertha Fray Sacco of Southview, PA. She attended California State Teachers College (now known as PennWest California), in California, PA, where she met her husband. She graduated from St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, NY, and retired from Otto-Eldred Elementary School in Eldred, PA, where she taught second grade for several years.

Joyce was preceded in death on August 3, 2016, by her husband, Joseph P. Lehosky, and on December 23, 2022, by their only child, Joseph A. Lehosky. Joyce and her husband were married nearly 58 years at the time of his death.

She was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Smethport Country Club. She also enjoyed gathering with friends, cooking, baking, traveling, reading, gardening, and watching sports.

Joyce is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Popiel Lehosky, her husband's nephew, Christopher Momberger, and special neighbor family, Carl (deceased) and Jean Miskovish and their children, Anthony Miskovish and Michele Miskovish Torok.

There will be no public visitation or funeral services. Cremains will be scattered by the family.

Patricia is grateful for the compassion expressed and loving care given to Joyce by the staff and residents of the Bradford Ecumenical Home, including Chapel Ridge.
