Julia Horton Obituary

Julia D. 'Jewels' Horton, beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister

CUBA - Julia D. "Jewels" Horton, 17, of 4326 Route 305, Cuba, passed away Saturday (Oct. 29, 2022) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Feb. 11, 2005, in Bradford, Pa., she was a daughter of Joshua and Katie Horton.

Julia attended pre-K through second grade at Otto-Eldred School and currently was a junior at Cuba-Rushford Central School. She was also attending the welding program at the Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES center at Belmont. She dreamed of dominating the male workforce.

Julia's ray of sunshine and bubbly personality will be deeply missed by many. She was a tomboy at heart and played ponies, midget and modified football. She loved to cook, bake, hunt and was going to join the swim team this year.

She is survived by her parents, Joshua and Katie Horton of Cuba; her brothers, Gabriel Horton, currently stationed in Great Lakes, Ill. with the U.S. Navy and Travis (Nicole) Harrier of Olean; a nephew, Grayson; paternal grandparents, Denise (David) Smith of Cuba and Jack (Myra) Buckles of Clermont, Pa.; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and her boyfriend, Cole and his family.

Julia was welcomed to heaven by her maternal grandparents, Nancy Rose and Sherry (Max) Housler; her paternal great-grandparents, Julie and LaVern Horton; and by her favorite pets, Bo Bo, Hogan and My My.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 5, 2022) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba, at which time a memorial services celebrating her life will be held.

Julia Your smile and upbeat attitude will gratefully be missed. We will cherish the times you spent with us at camp in Franklinville. You are surely with God in Heaven as one of his "special" angels and you will light up the evening sky with the brightest star. Love to your family. Aunt Bonnie (Buckles) and Uncle David
