Mario Liberati Obituary
Loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather
OLEAN - Mario Liberati, of Olean, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 7, 2024) shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital.
Mario was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Sarnano, Italy, to John and Elisa Fideli Liberati. On May 31, 1958, he married the former Patricia Muchler, who survives.
Mario had numerous jobs, but in 1948 he started a 43-year career at Dresser-Rand, where he was known to all as Dresser's Best Babbit Man. He was a former member of the Moose and Christopher Columbus Lodge.
Mario loved to hunt and fish and was a founding father of the Enchanted Mountain Beagle Club. He enjoyed gardening and making his own homemade wine. Mario was proud of his Italian heritage
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Daniel (Jo-Ann) Liberati and David Liberati; two grandsons, Aaron (Karley) Liberati and Brent Liberati; a great-grandson, Dominic Liberati; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Fiorinda Tardella, Oliva Pazzelli and Marfisa Denicola.
Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 11, 2024) at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday (Feb. 12, 2024) at St. John's Church. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Enchanted Mountain Beagle Club % 4243 Mossbrook Road, Friendship, NY 14739.

Mario was a great man , and will be missed at 1) the Beagle club and 2) at the local Euchre tournaments . I even bought some garlic bulbs from him for my garden . He always was smiling and a pleasure to be with . I will miss hime also.
