Richard Stewart Obituary
loving husband, father and son
FRIENDSHIP - Richard D. Stewart III, 47, of Maple Grove Road, Friendship, passed way Friday (Feb. 2, 2024) at home.
Born May 8, 1976, in Corning, he was a son of Richard D. Stewart II and Anita Hoad Parulski. On May 10, 1997, in Bath, he married the former Cristin M. McKenna, who survives.
Rich was a graduate of Haverling High School, Class of 1994. He later graduated from Houghton College with a bachelor's degree in biology.
He started working for Friendship Dairies over 20 years ago, and continued on as a regional quality manager for Saputo Cheese USA, Inc.
He had served on the Friendship Central School Board of Education and had attended the Cuba First Baptist Church.
Rich enjoyed raising horses, cows, goats and chickens with his wife and daughters. He also enjoyed volunteering with the 4-H program and gardening. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family - they were the center of his world.
In addition to his wife, Cristin, he is survived by two daughters, Coreen Stewart of Lockport and Caitlin Stewart of Friendship; his mother and stepfather, Anita (Michael) Parulski of Bath; a brother, Robert (Leslie) Stewart of Arizona; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David M. (Arlene L.) McKenna of Newfield; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin (Erin) McKenna of Newfield; and several nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his father, Richard D. Stewart II; and a brother, Reese Stewart.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 7, 2024) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba. Pastor Bill Beck will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Allegany County Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H office, 5435A County Road 48, Belmont, NY 14813.
