Rose Miller Cleveland

HENDERSON, N.C. - Rose Miller Cleveland, 75, of Henderson, passed away Thursday (Oct. 9, 2025) at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Sims Miller and Bernice Rebecca Ellington Miller.

She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Louisburg.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Michael Joseph Cleveland; one son, Edward Patrick (Jennifer) Hayes; one daughter, Wendy (Frankie) Hayes Bunn; four grandchildren, Isaac (Kaitlin) Hayes Allen, Jayden Edward Allen, Elizabeth Valdez-House and Ruby Valdez-House; one brother, Clifton W. Journigan; one sister, Carolyn Rebecca Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Ethel Martel, Evelyn Crocker, Ellen Blankenship, Dorothy Allison and Hazel Faulkner; and three brothers, Bill Miller Jr, Isaac Miller and Bobby Journigan.

A visitation was be held from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday (Oct. 14, 2025) at Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson.

Arrangements are by Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson.
