Terry Martin Obituary
loving husband, father, brother & grandpa (GT)
LITTLE VALLEY --- Dr. Terry H. Martin of Little Valley passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Olean General Hospital.
Terry was born on June 13, 1943, in Hawthorne, California and was the son of Warren and Alice Howell Martin. On December 19, 1976, in Buffalo he married Peggy Bordeaux who survives.
Terry graduated from Long Beach High School and continued his education at the University of Buffalo. He earned his doctorate in circa 1980. He worked for Cattaraugus County as the Chief Planner for 20 years. Terry loved writing poetry and history. He was a past president of the Allentown Art Association, a race director of the Skyline Marathon, and an author for the VVLP (Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program). Terry served in the Peace Corps for two years and in the Army for two years both in Thailand.
Beside his loving wife Peggy, Terry is survived by his daughter, Medria (John) Schwartz of California, three step-children; Wendy (Late Peter) Johnston of Williamsville, Julie (Paul) Blinzler of Williamsville, and Joost (Cheryl) Vles of Lancaster, eight grandchildren; Eric (Naomi), Kevin, Laura (Matt), Joel (Angela), Jamie (Owen), Amy, Quinten, and Skylar, a great granddaughter, Elliana, and his sister, Marianne (Ralph) Worley.
Terry was predeceased by his parents, three siblings, Robert Martin, Ronald Martin, and Danice Hegwood, and a son in law, Peter Johnston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ischua Valley Historical Society at P.O. Box 153, Franklinville, NY 14737.

Always enjoyed working with Terry as a legislator and friend. Many lifetime experiences and memories. A truly dedicated man on a mission to succeed. Loved his family unconditionally. So very sorry for this loss.
