Wilma Robbins Obituary

Wilma Robbins

ANGELICA - Wilma Victorine Hunt Robbins, 90, passed away Tuesday (June 17, 2025).

She was born at home in Whitesville on Oct. 28, 1934, the daughter of Victor Hunt and Alice Swort Hunt, and six years after the death of her father she became the stepdaughter of Edwin Jones. On Feb. 22, 1951, she married Curtis Samuel Robbins.

Wilma attended Whitesville Central School and was proud to have obtained her GED diploma later in life, along with her drivers license.

She worked with her husband Curt for many years with their businesses "C" Robbins Contractor and Robbins Rolling Roaster. In addition to raising 10 children, Wilma was a long-time employee on the cleaning staff at the American Hotel, and also worked for the Angelica Bakery. She even found time to become a certified EMT and serve on the Angelica Rescue Squad for several years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Angelica.

Known as a talented seamstress and artist, Wilma was an avid reader of history and biography. She also enjoyed researching geneology, playing the organ and piano, but most of all she loved her family.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 74 years, Curt Robbins; and nine of her 10 children, Victor (Susan) of Zephyrhills, Fla., Anita Austin of Angelica, Wayne (Colleen) of Belfast, Jerry (June) of Angelica, Cindy (Andy) Smith of Friendship, Marty Robbins of Angelica, Darla (Rick) Robbins of Alfred, Debra Geffers of Alfred and Patricia (James) Whitney of Belmont; daughter-in-law, Robin Robbins; and 71 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wilma was predeceased by her sister, Claudie Jones Patterson in 1960; and her son, Paul Robbins in 2024.

This sweet, beautiful, kind lady continued to give of herself even after death through organ donation.

Please join family and friends at Brown and Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, Angelica for calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 24, 2025) and for the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday (June 25, 2025).
