Barbara Osborn Obituary

Barbara A. Osborn

December 6, 1953 - June 24, 2025

Preceded in death by her parents Albert and Margaret Quambusch.

Survived by her A's: children, Allison Grennan (Bobby) of Omaha, Andrew Osborn (Christina Luchetta) of Los Angeles and Anna Osborn Ponzetti (Nick) of Portland, OR; their father Jim Osborn; grandchildren Alexander, Andrew, Archer and Ava Grennan; her sister, Sue Quambusch; nephews and niece Adam Baker (Joni); Ben Baker (Glennie); Micah Zajic (Biz Zast); Miriah Zajic (Matt Cruse); grand nieces and nephews; numerous other friends and extended family; and her beloved Dachshund, Liz.

Westside HS Class of 1972. Long time Omaha pediatric and NICU nurse. Lover of animals, trees, and gardening.

The family is grateful for the dedication, creativity and love from her care teams that gave us more years with our beloved Mom, Aunt and "Gaga", including one last Mother's Day which she spent at the baseball field and pool with her grandchildren. The family is also grateful for the prayers and support of family and friends near and far, especially in these last few weeks.

We will have a celebration of life for Barb later this summer.

Memorials will be directed by the family to charities that were close to her heart.

I met Barb last summer when we were both doing Pulmonary Therapy. She was amazing getting those exercises going while on oxygen and so thin. She had a great sense of humor and optimism. Barb and I and 2 others formed The Divas (Barb´s idea!) when we all "graduated." We got together for lunch in November and commiserated about the
election. I send my sincere condolences. For the brief time I knew her she was a bright light.

I also remember Barbie from living on 105th Street and going to Oakdale Elementary through high school with her. We went to Happy Hollow with her and had many sleepovers listening to the early Beatles. She had a springer spaniel named Cocoa if I recall. I loved seeing her at a reunion a few years ago. So sad to hear this news.

When I knew Barb we called her Beebee or Barbie. I remember playing at her lovely home on the Papio Creek and exploring the creek bed when we were children. I remember the house and her parents and how I loved going there. She accomplished many wonderful things in her life but to me the greatest was her kindness. I´m sure she will be missed and memories of her will be happy ones. My condolences

Such very sad news. Praying for the family. Barb and I went to school together from kindergarten until senior year. Barb and I were birthday twins sharing December 6th.
Barb and I reconnected, through Facebook, after our 50th reunion. I will cherish our last conversations.
My sincere sympathy to Barb´s family. May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead. I will always remember Barb.
Love and God Bless, Sandy

We worked together at Children's Hospital in the NICU. She was a great nurse, full of kindness and compassion for our little ones and their families. And she was so proud of her children and loved them with all of her heart. I feel lucky to have known her.

I was so sorry to hear about Barb. We were neighbors on 98th Street years ago. She was always so fun and up for an adventure. My condolences to her family.
