Age 66. Grand Ledge, MI, formerly of Omaha, NE. Barbara graduated from Westside High School, class of 1962, and the University of Nebraska, class of 1966, with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She married Ric in March 1973. Barb devoted her life to the education of others in various positions in Nebraska, Colorado, and Michigan. She was the utmost devoted Mother, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Aunt and Friend. Preceded in death by her father Phillip Handschuh. Survivors include her husband Frederick A. "Ric" II; sons Frederick A. "Eric" III of St. Paul, MN and Dana Andrew of Denver, CO; mother Esther Handschuh, sisters Marilyn (Dr. John D.) Woodbury and Denese (Thomas) Stalnaker; niece Julie Woodbury, and nephews Steve (Lori) Woodbury, John (Debbie) Stalnaker, and Scott (Amanda) Stalnaker.
MEMORIAL SERVICES Friday, January 7th at 11am at Pacific Hills Lutheran Church, 1110 S. 90th St., Omaha, NE 68124, (402)391-9625. The family will receive family and friends 10am-11am. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. For those desiring contributions, donations are encouraged to be given to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 South Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813 (517) 543-5310, to which the family extends a very special and heartfelt thank you.
