Survived by wife, Joyce M. Kilgore, Omaha; son, Bobby C. Kilgore, Jr.; step-daughter, Candace M. Smith; parents, Obel, Sr. and Rev. Gaynelle Kilgore; 6 brothers, Gary Jackson, Obel Jr., Edward Sr., Frederick, Ronald, Omaha, and Timothy Kilgore, Houston, TX; 1 grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives.
MEMORIAL SERVICE 1pm Wednesday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, (2602 N 24th St.). Cremation. THOMAS FUNERAL HOME

I have nothing but wonderful thoughts about Bobby Kilgore. We spent a lot of time together from grade school, middle school, through high school, We played on the basketball team at Central and after graduation, we worked together at the Omaha World Herald. We lived and grew up in the same neighborhood. What I remember most about Bobby is the love and closeness of his entire family, from top to bottom. Mother, Father, His oldest brother Obel, Gary Jackson, Edward, Keith (RIP), Freddie, and Timmy. His grandparents lived up the street on North 25th Avenue in Omaha where I grew up. Edward helped Bobby become a basketball sharp shooter which helped him become one of Omaha Central High Schools most prolific scorers. Bobby actually outscored Omaha North Great Mike McGee in a game our team played during the 1976/77 school years. That season, under Bobby's leadership, Omaha Central beat Omaha North both times we played. The first game was at the packed UNO field house, we won 65-60 and the second game was for the District Championship (too qualify for States) played at Omaha Westside High. We came out on top in a very exciting game winning 84 to 80. We were down in the game at one point early on 24 - 2, that's when Bobby caught fire allowing Central to catch up and go in front. For any one who didn't know him, Bobby was the type of guy who'd always be there for his family and friends. Rest In Peace Bobby. You are missed and will always have a place in my heart.

It's been a year Bobby and I still miss playing our Family Fued on FB. Really miss when we end each game with an old school song or you just rubbing it in when you beat me and Marcia. Well my friend, I'll end this conversation with another song. Highway to Heaven. RIP my friend. Miss you much!

Bobby & I were co-workers. I was going to school at the time and was interning at our work site. Bobby was given additional dutes to be my trainer/advisor. He taught me so much and he was so good at working with his clients. Bobby was so gentle & kind. I always respected him so much. He was such a good person and christian.
