Booker Nelson Obituary
June 23, 1936 - January 16, 2024
Born in Inverness, MS to Murry and Chadie (Hicks) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Susan (Miller), and his sister Jessie Brown. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1954 and the Nebraska Vocational Technical School in 1965. Booker and Susan were married in 1974 and raised their family in Lincoln, NE. They had five children: Sarah, Isaac, Anna, Ruth, and Joshua; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Booker was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for almost 70 years and liked sharing his faith & favorite scriptures at every opportunity. He was generous with his time and skills, volunteering to help with Kingdom Hall projects as well as renovations to friends' homes.
He enjoyed grilling, foods that reminded him of home and was known to carry his own hot sauce. He could often be found playing cards, bowling, or shooting pool with friends.
Auf Wiedersehen Booker, you will be missed. (John 5:28,29)
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, February 3 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 5911 Villa de Sante Drive, Omaha, NE. NO VISITATION.
