Preceded in death by mother, Lillie Mae Busch and brother, Denny J. Busch. Survived by wife, Christine (Butera) Busch; sons, Christopher Busch and Corey Busch; step-daugher Courtney Atkinson and Nichole Atkinson; father, Arthur N. Busch; sister, Vickie Busch; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tony and Nancy Butera; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Sandra Butera; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Mortuary. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Johnston Mortuary. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the family. JOHN E. JOHNSTON & SON

Chuck was the closest thing I had to a dad. I miss him a lot and I am very sorry to all of his family.

Chuck - Today is Mother's Day and you are in my thoughts as well as any other day. You loved our boys with all your heart and your dedication to being a great father was never questioned. I have your legacy, Chris and Corey, and will live each day being the best mom to your sons that I can possibly be. I promise to make you proud. I am so thankful that you and I made peace and will truly treasure our last conversations over the past month. You and I had finally began to embrace a friendship and move on. Though our 20 yrs together had it's ups and downs, I only remember all the incredibly good times, camping, fishing, boating and your romantic ways. We, unfortunately, did not get to meet Chuck personally, but knew his brother Denny well. The family has been great supporters & players of table shuffleboard for years.

I grew up with the boys and was always considered to be part of the family by Chuck. My family and I are in great shock to here about this tragedy. He always took me fishing with the family and helped with thing around our house. We loved having you as a neighbor. My deepest sympathies go out to the family of Chuck. I just recently learned of him through an awesome friend. From all that Kathy has told me and from what I have read here thus far. I know he will be greatly missed by a countless number of people. The lives which he has touched through out his lifetime will surpass our highest guess.
This is a time that is bittersweet. Bitter for those who are alive, who grieve, who miss his touch, his remarks and the love expressed by him. Yet, it is sweet for Chuck. For his suffering has come to an end.
May you find comfort in times of sorrow, peace in times of turmoil.

Where do I start? Riding motorcycles, playing shuffleboard, shooting hoops, wrestling around and knocking holes in the paneling in Arts basement, toying with cousins Dean and Kelly? I moved away from Omaha in 97 and lost track of Chuck a couple of years later. I would hear snippets now and then from mutual friends about what was happening with Chuck. My heart goes out to Art and Vicky. Chuck will be missed.

I can’t tell you how much many of us from UNMC will miss Chuck. He really was a caring individual, dedicated father and just so wonderful to be around. This all comes as such a shock for many. I can remember just a day before his surgery I was telling him that I couldn’t wait to see him back at work. Many are saddened by this loss. My heart was broken to learn of the sudden tragic event of your husband, and I cannot imagine the depth of your sorrow. I wish I had words to comfort and sustain you in your grief, but I know there are none that will take away any pain you are feeling now. Chuck was such a good man and a wondeful person to be around. I will always remember how he used to make in fun of me or give me great big hugs whenever I went to one of Chris or Corey's baseball games. I always knew that if I ever needed anything Chuck would be there in a split second. He will be missed by many people. I will always love him.

Busch Family & Friends,
We have all lost a good friend, father a son. Life is not fair, and at times it can seem cruel.
There is a plan why Chuck was called home early in life. Maybe someone in upstairs needs a good shuffel board player, or fishing friend. Maybe it has tought us all how valuable life is and how short
it can be. It will take time for us all
but lets think of the fun times, good
