Dad, Skip had a heart felt Eulogy for your funeral, he touched on every emotion us kids felt on losing you! He mentioned how you gave directions by indicating turn left at a certain restauraunt and how your diary of travel was detailed with every morsel consumed. I wanted to post a picture of you on this web site but when I reviewed what I had loaded in my computer, I discovered they were only of our trip this summer to France, but something you would appreciate. I noticed 2 pictures of restaruant menu's, a picture of pizza, of desserts, steins of beer and of course the French Bakery and its wonderlands of pastries. They say the best form of flattery is imitiation....We miss you so much, but we know you are sitting at the feast God has prepared, please send pictures! Love Dave

Sharon, I just found out about your loss. Your father was 1 on the great ones! He always had a smile on his face. My 4 children have heard the story about the day he ran over my foot when I met him at the curb to get the mail. My mother and I were just laughing about it the other day and then we read about his passing. Your family is in my prayers. Teresa (T.J. from Ralston High)

I am always so proud when friends tell me that I am "just like my dad", constantly teasing and joking with them. You always pushed me to do well in sports as well as taught me to enjoy life. I hope I can raise my son as well as you and mom raised me. I am so proud to have you as my dad and I will miss you so much. I love you.
Your baby, Sharon

Being one of 27 grandchildren, I might be a bit biased, but of all the people I've ever known or met, you are the one who definitely is on his way straight to Heaven. (Grandma you don't have a thing to worry about either) I couldn't have asked for a better grandfather. I will miss your santa hat, your Easter egg hunts, your sense of humor, how you played & talked to my kids and most of all you. Mick

Sharon and Family, I was so sorry to hear about Charlie. Looking back I have so many great memories of Charlie while I was growing up. He always had a wise crack for me and kept me laughing. Sometimes I couldn't tell if I was in trouble or if he was joking, which only made him laugh harder. My prayers are with all of you.

Dear Mary and Family,
Tom and I are truly saddened to hear of the loss of Charlie. Charlie kindness to the Howard family and their children will always be remembered. Charlie and Mary were great back yard neighbors and friend for thirty years. Charlie embraced life to the fullest. Charlie will be remembered for his love for his wife, his family, sports, travel and gardening. He loved living in Ralston for these many years, and had many friends. Charlie, Mary and I had great times talking over the back yard fence especially in springtime about our gardens and yard. We shared garden plants, and produce. Mary and I spoke of our faith in God and how important prayer is in our daily lives to protect everyone we love. Tom and I are praying for you now and that you will find peace in knowing that Charlie is with his Lord and Savior.
Love,
Mike Catherwood

Uncle Charley was always the uncle I missed most year to year. I always looked forward to seeing him at the annual family picnics. He always had a smile and entertained the kids, of whom I was one 40 years ago. Uncle Charley was one of those people who made a difference in the world with his kindness. Many will miss him.
