Charles Titus Obituary

Loving husband, proud father, adoring grandfather, devoted son, loyal brother, respected colleague, gifted athlete, talented musician, accomplished author, eternal friend. Charlie Titus disappeared while scuba diving and is presumed dead. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lu Ella Titus; brother William. He is survived by wife, Rose; children Brittany (Matt) Benson and Ben (Kelly) Titus; grandchildren, Sam and Katie Benson and Grace, Ruby and Edie Titus; siblings, Dr. Steve (Debbie) Titus, Dr. John (Mary) Titus and Jeannie (Dr. Gerry) Nelson; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
MEMORIAL on Saturday, October 3rd at Erin Court 4714 N. 120th Street in Omaha, NE 3-8pm. An additional memorial will be held on October 24, 2009 in Las Vegas at the Titus' residence starting at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations are suggested to: Charlie and Rose Titus Scholarship Fund, Bank of Blue Valley, c/o Matt Benson - Branch Manager, 1235 East Santa Fe, Olathe, KS 66061, or Ronald McDonald House of Omaha.

Brittney and Ben.. It's Alicia, from down the street when we were kids. Darren, my brother somehow stubble upon this news recently. I was sad to hear. I have fond memories of us playing at your house. While I did not know your dad well.. I imagine it to be hard. I hope this finds you well and you are getting the support you need.

Memories of my father include but are not limited to teaching me how to ride a bike, taking my brother and I trick or treating every year, driving to Baylor University for Freshman orientation, helping me compose my first song on the piano- the list of them go on and on... I loved my father deeply and I am so saddened by his loss. I never doubted his love-he supported me unconditionally-even if I was unaware. I continue to hear him in the songs I listen to and the piano I play. I love you Dad- Rest in peace.

I started to write something a few hours agp. but got cut off. Rose, I never met you, but I have known Charle since since the moon landing. Gracie always told me what a great inflence you were on his life. He has always been a dear friend and my heart goes out to you and his family. Don't know if you knew the "Goodwins", but I was engaged to John and we alll go along famously. He passed away in 1992, but my heart still breaks. Please take care of you and your family. Don't know what else to say. Except, I will always remembe Charlie.

To Rose and all of Charlie's family: My heart aches for all of you at this time. I had the pleasure of meeting Charlie when we were taking a Nevada Bar prep course in 2003. We became instand friends; it's just how Charlie was. Later, I had the pleasure of spending time with both Charlie and his beautiful wife, Rose. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I will miss him. We will all miss him.
