Spencer, Cody Alan

July 8, 1984 - February 8, 2023

On February 8, 2023, Cody Alan Spencer, a beloved, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away. He was 39 years old. Born to Stephanie Renee (Adams) Wozniak and Alan Wade Spencer in Cheyenne Wyoming on July 8, 1984. Cody graduated from high school in Kearney, Nebraska, received his undergraduate degrees from University of Nebraska at Kearney and his graduate degree from Macquarrie University in Sidney Australia. Cody Spencer spent many years of his adult life in Southeast Asia in Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal and Myanmar. He worked for many non-profit organizations building schools and providing education to the children in the underdeveloped areas of these countries. This was his passion for life, providing places for education and educating these children as well. While in Myanmar he worked at the University teaching English and Business to the young adults of Myanmar and was well loved by everyone. The Covid Pandemic brought him home and he lived in Bellevue Nebraska where he worked at TD Ameritrade. This was just a steppingstone for Cody, his lifelong goal was to return to Cambodia and organize his own non-profit organization and continue his humanitarian efforts.

Cody is survived by his parents, Stephanie Wozniak and Alan Spencer; stepparents, David Wozniak and Tina Spencer; brothers: Bobby Spencer, Taylor Spencer and Rhett Spencer; sister, Nicole Spencer; sister-in-law, Kayla Spencer; nieces, Marissa Anderson and Cali Johnson-Spencer; and nephew, Mekhi Anderson.

Cody provided as his last humanitarian gift was his gift of life through organ donation.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Sunday, February 19, 2023, 6:30pm, at Lotus Monastery, 826 Avenue A, Council Bluffs, IA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Lotus Monastery.
