We are former neighbors of Deb, and we knew Paul and Marge from our years teaching at Creighton. We are so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. All the best to the family.

Please accept my condolences and my heartfelt sympathy for your great loss. A few years ago , pre-covid, Paul reached out to me via email and letters to share some pictures of my father and mother. Paul was a treasured friend of my father and mother, John and Ann Rice. When I was a teenager, and was working at the snack shop at Fontenelle Forest , I remember how he would always say Hi! And engage with me on some topic of the day. I remember him as always kind, cheerful, and with a ready laugh,
I am grateful to have known him.

I want to offer my sincere sympathy to the family of Paul Hartnett. Paul was a kind and caring man. I really enjoyed working with him at the State Legislature when Paul was a Senator. He had an infectious laugh and always was a serious legislator without taking himself too seriously. He will be missed.

I met Paul on a trip to Israel in September 2019. It was a pleasure sharing the experience with him and Debbie. I won't soon forget him. Such a nice and kind person. Glad I got to meet you.

To the extended Hartnett family: I remember Dr. Hartnett with respect, fondness, and gratitude. He was a wonderful educator and made an enormous impact on so many teachers and educational administrators; quite a legacy! Creighton was blessed to have him as a faculty member for so many years. I will remember him at Mass today, praying also that God hold all his family close.
