Neomi and Family,

I want you to know how sorry Teresa and I are to here of Dean's passing. I remember meeting Dean when I was a very young boy at his house. I had never before meet any so confident. He seemed to be so good at everything he did. Later on I came to appreciate his dry sense of humor. I never really knew for sure if he was joking or not, until I got older and could understand his intelligent sense of humor. Dean was fine person, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

God Bless,
Kevin and Teresa Eckhout

To the Hascall Family:

We are saddened to hear of Dean' death. He has certainly been a trooper these past few years. We have many wonderful memories of Dean and feel blessed that we had the opportunity to see him a number of times in recent years. We remember when he used to say, while he was in high school:
"When I get to be governor of Nebraska. . . " I guess a great career got in the way of his high school aspirations. We will always remember his as a scholar and a mighty loyal friend. May you find peace and consolation in knowing that Dean lead a most productive life and is now enjoying his eternal reward. May his soul rest in peace.

Dean was my college debate partner. (I wasn't the best he could have had.) The question was RESOLVED: That a World Government Should Be Established. In one of our debates, the affirmative offered a complicated constitution. Dean's response was The Ten Commandments (he did this without consulting me). He rattled them off very forcibly and embellished them. We lost the debate but I have never forgotten it! Loved him. Ron Kenney

I was so sorry to hear about Dean. His mother Eva and my mother Ethel were great friends. Dean was always one of my mother's favorites. It was her special request that he be there for her 80th birthday, he complied and I was touched by his kindness.

May he rest in peace.

Dear Hascall Family,
Please accept our condolences regarding the death of your husband, father, grandfather and brother.
We had the opportunity to meet Mr. Hascall at the time of the death of Dean and Jeannie's daughter, Jamie. Dean and my husband, Jim Schweiss, worked together on the CNW Railroad for many years and we all were great friends. Mr. Hascall was very kind to us at that tragic time.
Again, our most sincere sympathies to everyone who will be greatly affected by the loss of this gentleman. May you enjoy the memories you made with him throughout the years.
Sincerely,
Jim and Kathie Schweiss

My deepest sympathy to Neomi and her children and grandchildren. They are blessed with the memories of a warm loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

I will cherish the memories I have of about 40 years of friendship with Dean...of Halloween parties and birthdays, of good-natured political arguments, of Husker football loyalties (including all of us bundled inside a small caravan of rented Cadillac limousines from Bellevue to Lincoln one football Saturday).

Some people joke about attorneys, but when Dean served me in his professional capacity he was always honorable.

He was a deeply religious man and has a place waiting for him in Heaven. I have an idea it won't be long before God Himself will be smiling at Dean's good humor.
