Omaha. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Marguerite Smith; brothers, Albert and John Smith. Survived by wife Sally of Omaha; sisters, Clara Herman of Sigourney, IA, Mary Therese (James) Mulligan of Garden City, MO; brothers, Donald Smith of Nashville, TN, Terrence (Marilyn) Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA; many nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL MASS Saturday 10:30am St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. VISITATION with the family begins Friday 6pm followed by a 7pm Wake Service, both at the Pacific Street Chapel. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Columban Fathers or Stephen Center. JOHN A. GENTLEMAN MORTUARIES

I am writing for Larry Devine he was a good friend of Gene's in college. He had lost track of him and I just Googled and found this obituary. We don't know if Sally is still alive or not. I, his daughter Nancy, is currently living in Omaha.

Sally and Family,
Mary gave me the news about Gene. He was truely a blessing to us. I will miss seeing the two of you walking the dog and visiting with who ever was outside. Our neighborhood is diminished by his passing and he will be missed. I am sorry I am in Enid and will not be able to be at his services. We will be knocking on your door.

Uncle Gene, I will never forget when, as kids, we ventured up to omaha and u took us to the zoo.. We all had so much fun up there. You will be missed by so many here, but greeted with outstretched arms in heaven by all.
