I worked with Fran at Crestridge School as a classroom teacher from 1980 to 1986, She was a knowledgeable, insightful and fun school media specialist. Fran knew all students at Crestridge by name and she worked to motive youngsters to enjoy varied types of books. She was helpful in supplying books to teachers to complement areas of study. Fran had high expectations of all students and was a no nonsense educator with high standards of children who entered her library.
My condolences to her family, colleagues and friends.

Fran was an enthusiastic and loving librarian. She was a silent mentor to me as I entered the field. I listened and watched as Fran shared her love of books and children. I so admired and respected her.

So sad to hear of the loss of Fran Grabbert (and Bob earlier this year). Bob and Fran both played golf with me in the Omaha Sports Club Friday night golf league. I remember they were both very friendly and physically active, they walked most of the time but took a cart on those warm days at Elmwood Golf Course (they both enjoyed golf). Sometime later Bob might have hurt his hip and they both dropped out of the league.
I was very surprised to hear later that they were "Uncle and Aunt" of my good friend Ann Leland where we both played volleyball together in the Omaha Sports Club and shared birthdays.
Rest in peace Bob and Fran.
