Dr. Westerman was a tireless leader in organized dentistry for more than 33 years. In addition to his faculty responsibilities at the Creighton University School of Dentistry, Dr. Westerman served as the treasurer of the Omaha District Dental Society (ODDS) for decades. Gary was the source of all institutional knowledge in every aspect of the ODDS, the Nebraska Dental Association, the American Dental Association and dozens of other organizations. He left big shoes to fill after he retired from ODDS. No words can accurately summarize Gary´s dedication and expertise. He leaves behind thousands whose lives and professions were greatly enhanced by his caring expertise. -HH executive director ODDS 2003 - 2017

My thoughts are with Dr. Westerman's family and friends. He was my dentist from my childhood years until I became an adult. To this day, I remember him teaching me how to brush and floss my own teeth and leaving his office armed with new toothbrushes, small tubes of crest, and plastic gemstone rings and stickers for having no cavities !! I imagine that he will be missed by many and that his life will be celebrated for years to come...
