My thoughts and prayers are with the Hawks family during this difficult time. Howard gave me my first management opportunity at Northern Natural Gas in the early '80s. I remain eternally grateful for the opportunity he provided me. I also remember the Little League Baseball teams his youngest son and mine played on together, giving me the chance to interact with Howard on a more informal basis. The contributions he made to the Omaha community, UNL, and UNO are many - he was truly a giving person. He is missed. May he rest peacefully in Heaven!

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love. And when it happens, the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your loved one can be most difficult to bear. That pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your loved one is up in heaven.

I met Howard Hawks through my sister and brother in law his Colorado land managers .. I've only met Howard a handful of times enough to know what a great man he was. I was surprised when He and Rhonda came to my nieces wedding in Colorado. Last time I saw Howard n Rhonda was in Omaha where they so graciously helped facilitate a kidney donation and transplant to save my brother-in-law's life . I have nothing but respect for Howard Hawks and condolences to his entire family.

Many will remember Mr Hawks as quite the philanthropist. I will always remember him as Coach Hawks from my youth baseball years.

RIP Coach, you will long be remembered.
