James Dworak Obituary
Age 74
James "Jim" Dworak Jr. of Shawnee, KS departed this life on April 22, 2013, surrounded by his family. Jim was born and raised in Omaha. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master's Degrees at Creighton University, his PhD at the University of Nebraska, and Postdoctoral Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He spent his professional years in cancer research, then in manufacturing, production, quality and safety management in the Veterinary Medicine industry at many companies including Bayer, Eli Lilly, Midwest Research Institute, and the EPA. He was a Reserve Police Officer with the Overland Park, KS Police Department, and was an active member of his church. Jim enjoyed history, world travel, fine wine, motorcycling, and hunting. Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Darlene; children, James Dworak III of Wichita, KS, Janine (Frank) Walters of Eagle River, AK, Jenifer Noss of Omaha, and Joseph (Michele) Dworak of Des Moines, IA; step-son, Jon (Tami) McCurdy of Gardner, KS; former wife Jane Dworak of Omaha; sisters, Virginia (Bob) Iltzsch, and Rosemary (Steve) Scholder; and brothers, William (Jan) Dworak, John (Jane) Dworak, and Ron (Sheila) Dworak. Jim was lovingly known as "Papa Doc" by his 12 grandchildren.
A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be held at 11am on Monday, April 29, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave in Overland Park, KS. Private Interment. Memorials may be given to the University of Nebraska Foundation, 2285 South 67th Street, Suite 200, Omaha, NE 68106, for the James Dworak Memorial Fund for Cancer Research.

Jenifer - My prayers are with you and your family...
