Hello. I missed the exact date of the anniversary of one year,
...but Mr. Hubschman is constantly on my mind. I keep a pic on my table to remind me what a wonderful man he was......and how kind and caring he was to me. We just seemed to "click" when I went to my interview with him on my first counseling job. He hired me.....and we became dear friends. I got to know him as a friend, and was also blessed to meet and become with his dear wife Marilee. Even though it had been awhile since I had seen him.......I do miss him dearly. I SO wish I would have seen him before he passed. God bless him and his dear family. I love him and all of his family.

Jim was a classmate at Prep. There are those who live —- and then there are those who positively impact others. Jim was an “ impact player.” Omaha will miss him.

Jim was such a wonderful caring educator. I had friends who worked in his buildings and they always spoke so highly of him. I am sure Marylee is welcoming Jim with open arms. Jim, you have done so much for so many people. St. Peter is welcoming Jim through the pearly gates with "Welcome good and faithful servant. You have done well!"

I too met Mr. Hubschman as a Freshman in 1967 at Archbishop Rummel HS. In-between the summer of my Freshman- Sophomore year, I took a non-required reading class with him as the teacher. This was a speed reading course and I always enjoyed reading and felt that this might increase my ability. It did and it also developed a unique relationship with my young teacher that has lasted to this day. He always got a kick of joy whenever I still called him Mr. Hubschman. He would tell others about me being a problem student. Always happy to see me and I always told him how much I owed him. I will miss him at the Ft. Calhoun fish fry. He will always be reading with me when I pick up a book. He was truly a gift as a teacher.

We are forever thankful that Jim became Charlee's Godfather just 2 short years ago. He was dedicated to his roll in her life. He never wavered. Taught her how to drive a golf cart and a lawn tractor, feed the birds and chickens, and carrots to the horses. He had a heart of gold and a strong dedication to his faith. He will be truly missed.

Jim was a mentor, friend and a caring individual to all. He had the ability to persuade many young people to not only go to college but would check to see if you needed some encouragement and help along the way! I was one of those countless individuals that Jim pushed, praised and aided during my lifetime. In his life, Jim has given so much and earned the respect of many.

I first met Jim (when was 24 yrs. Old) in the fall of 1967 when he was my homeroom teacher (room13) at Archbishop Rummel high school...
More recently, we re-introduced ourselves to one another at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska
We shared several stories with one another with smiles/ laughs. I remember Jim very fondly and as quite a role model in my life... RIP

Jim Hubschman was one of my favorite people in my life. I met Mr. Hubschman when I interviewed for a counseling position at Marrs Jr. High in 1994. We quickly became friends. Jim took a chance on me as a 1st year counselor....and I continued that career until I retired in 2019. He was a major part of my success in the counseling profession. We had a lot of good times together both professionally and socially with Tom and Merilee. He was so easy to talk to, had a great sense of humor........and was very supportive. My family and I moved to Missouri in 2000.....and lost contact with Jim for several years. But Jim reached out to me a couple years ago, and we had a wonderful conversation. Even though I have not seen him in the last years; he will always be in my heart as one of the nicest, most supportive and wonderful friends I have ever been blessed to have. I will miss just knowing you were in Omaha. I love you Jim Hubshman.............and will see you in Heaven.

I was so sad to hear of Jim´s passing. I´ve known him since he was teaching at Rummel High School. My mother, Margaret Sirois, was the office manager at Rummel and Jim and Marylee were very good friends with my folks. I actually did some babysitting for Jim´s kids when they were very little. Then years later I was employed at OPS and was happy to catch up with Jim to reminisce about the years at Rummel. Jim was a great guy and he will be missed. Rest in peace, Jim

Jim was my principal at Marrs many years ago. I remember him as a thoughtful and kind man. Enjoyed a Friday afternoon or two in his boat riding up and down the Missouri River with other teachers. Soooo sorry to hear this..
