Jim and Dessie at Fair 2017

Jim never had kids but he was such a good guy to mine. He was always so gentle with his kitties too. I remember one time he told me a story about how he was looking for his timid cat named Charlotte and he was on his hands and knees looking under a bush near the old house. He was calling her and suddenly he was startled because she jumped down onto his back from a pole that he was near. We thought that was so funny. Jim was so willing to go do fun things with us in short notice. He really filled in the gaps, being like a Grandpa since we lacked family members that lived near by (many times). For me he was such a good friend that I could trust and I have never quite found such a friend as he since. He has been very generous to my family and life would have been more painful and dull without him and his help. Even his family shared their holidays with us a few times which was very timely since being alone over the holidays is not so pleasant. This may sound silly, but on my last visit with Jim we couldn't stay long and I felt terrible to just drop in for a few minutes, but the visit seemed so worth it now remembering how he was scooting his feet under the wheel chair like he was going to go somewhere that he looked forward to and he seemed to be smiling too. It's like a vision of innocence in my mind. I trust that he is with Jesus our Lord now and his Heavenly Father is glad to have him near.
