Rusty, Sid, Brenda and Becky I am so sorry that God has taken Jody so soon. I have been trying to understand why the best in us all has left this earth for a better place, but I can't come up with anything other than complete trust in God's plan for her.

Jody helped me get through High School Biology and for that I am forever in her debt. She was one of the kindest people I have ever known. Your family was so good to me growing up and I can never repay you for that. But know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

We met Jody as a realtor, and like she did with so many others, she befriended us. Jody was such a gift to our family. Everyone of us loved her. Omaha shines a little less brightly without her, and we'll miss her terribly.

February 27, 2008

Oh kids, you already know this I am sure, but your mom was one of the brighests spots in everyone's day! No matter how much trouble you might be having, she always had a smile and hug for you.

As a co-worker and "next door neighbor" at the CBSHOME office, we would frequently "take 5" and talk about our families and she always had something great to say about each and every one of you!

She was my co-worker, my confidant, my conscience, my friend! I will forever miss that fabulous smile and the gleem in her eye (always wondered what devilish idea that gleem represented.)

She is watching down on all of us know, and we best behave, or that smile might fade, and we cannot have that.

May God bless and keep you all.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jody professionally. I share the sentiment of countless others who are shocked and saddened at her death. It was clear she was a remarkable person to both her family and clients. May those dearest to her find joy and comfort in the memories she left behind and the courage to celebrate the gift she was to this world during her 41 years. May God bless her family during this difficult time.

February 27, 2008

When I first heard about the sudden death of Jody, I was stunned, angry, and sad for her family. It was unbelievable. She was far too young and she left her beautiful children far too soon.
Then, after I attended the wake and the beautiful funeral and seen all of the people's lives that she touched, I realized that Jody had done what she was sent here to do. She had fulfilled her mission. What takes some people 80 to 100 years to complete, Jody did in 41. She will be remembered.

My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

To the children of Jody Schott:

I met your mom by sitting with her at Cassidy's gymnastics sessions. She talked very fondly and protectively of all of you all the time. I was so looking forward to getting to know your mother better through play dates with our children. You are so fortunate to have had such a wonderful person as a mother. Treasure your memories.

Jody moved in the home she and Pat built just after we did 12 years ago. Even after they moved out we remained friends. That's the kind of person she was. She bought my 9 year old his first pair of baby shoes, which we still have. We were so glad to see Jody find her niche in real estate. Her success speaks to that. As busy as she became with her new career, she always had time to talk to you about anything. You were a great lady Jody. We hope peace finds you.

I was so sad to hear about Jody. I lived not too far from the "Dunn" kids growing up and our families were neighbors in Osceola. I babysat for Becky, Rusty and Jody when they were little. As I read all the wonderful tributes to Jody it is so evident that she continued to be a "breath of fresh air" to all she met. I know this is a great loss to many. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this sad time.

To Jody's family. I am so saddened. Jody was a good friend and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I lost my wife Linda last year and I understand what you are going through. I know that there is nothing that I can say that will make you feel better, other than that you might find comfort in knowing that there are a lot of people out there who's lives where blessed by knowning Jody. The world is a better place because of her.

I pray that you may find comfort and peace during this difficult time.

Nate, Destiny, Amanda, Cassidy, Aunt Brenda, Uncle Sid, Rusty, Becky and other loved ones of my sweet cousin Jody:

A family is like a patchwork quilt, with kindness gently sewn. Each piece an original with beauty all its own. With threads of warmth and happiness, it is lightly stitched together. To last in love throughout the years...a family is forever!

Jody was a fabulous swatch of fabric that radiated beauty and warmth wherever she went, whomever she met. Her piece of the quilt will remain forever in my heart.

February 26, 2008

Several months ago my daughter Jenni asked me if it was ok to take her daughter to an open house because she didn't have a babysitter. I told her the story of how I met one of the most successful realtors in the business. Several years ago I took a buyer through an open house on a Sunday afternoon. When we walked in the door the first thing we saw was a little girl coloring by the fireplace. The agent explained she didn't have a sitter and the sellers really wanted her to have an open house. I praised her for being such a good mom and a hard worker. The agent ofcourse, was Jody Schott. That is how I will always remember Jody, a good mom and a hard worker. This is such a shock. My deepest sympathy to her children, family, and many, many friends.

To Jody's family-

We were shocked to hear of Jody's passing...we still cannot believe it.

Jody had a great big heart, especially for kids, and she was very generous with that heart in regards to both of our kids. Her generosity extended to making numerous donations to our oldest son's baseball team, and to our youngest son's cancer foundation. She was also a great supporter of all our neighborhood events.

Hardly a day would go by without seeing her drive through our neighborhood in her "IWORK4U" car. She became a friend to us and many others that started out as clients. It will be very strange not to see her passing through any more.......she will be missed.

Our hearts go out to you at this time and in the days ahead. If there is anything more we can offer to you, please let us know.

We will be making a donation in her name to one of our favorite charities.
