John was my high school classmate. We went to homecoming dance together. I remember how kind and thoughtful he was.
My sympathies.

Paul and family,

I was sorry to hear about John. I didn't know him well, but I remember him to be such a nice guy. It never seems fair to lose one so young--I lost my brother (55 years Old) this past March from stomach cancer. Larry and I are thinking about you.

To the Hagen Family... I dated John a very long time ago, he was a wonderful guy and always the gentleman. He was very kind, compassionate and caring. I was saddened to learn of his passing. He was indeed a rare breed! He shall be missed but never forgotten. Take care. Joy Terkelsen Kroll

My sympathy goes out to all of you in John's family. I haven't seen him much in a few years but I worked with him yearts ago at Imperial and then down at Southroads. Back in the 90's we had lunch every day. Stories of Fargo, friends and family. Traveled to car races. Helped him with stereo setup. I will miss him greatly. Brian R.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's hard to put into words how it feels to see such a wonderful human being go so soon. John was one of my very favorite people here at work. He always had the best attitude no matter what the circumstances. And always, always made sure to make people laugh with his pure silliness. If I could sum up John in one word it would be "Unique." No one like him. He will be truly missed, and always loved. Blessings to you all...

and remember John as such a kind and gentle guy

My deepest sympathy to Teddy, Ric and family. John and his brothers, Paul and Tom, are some of my earliest memories of friends, as they were our next door neighbors on 13-1/2 Street in Fargo for many years. We all grew up together, and it is with great sadness to learn we have lost one of our gang. Lynn(Holgate) Smith Cloquet, MN

To Teddy, Ric, Paul and Tom -- One of the great families from the ol' Fargo neighborhood. I'm stunned and saddened to hear of John's death. Haven't seen him (or any of you) for years, but I have such fond memories of our growing up years in south Fargo. Mary Ellen often tells me of the time she and Teddy spotted John and me sitting on the curb on 13 1/2 St. one summer day, smashed so close together you couldn't get a piece of paper between us! I guess that makes him my very first boyfriend. I hope the great memories all of you have about him help you through the difficult days ahead. Rest in peace, John Hagen.

Ric and Teddy, Paul and Tom. John was taken from us way too soon. I am sorry I was not in town to stop by and say my final goodbye to him. My heart goes out to you. John will be greatly missed by so many friends. Just remember, he was loved by many for his wit, his honesty, his sincerity and his strength in facing the end so gallantly.
