I met J J 33 or so years ago when I became an apprentice to Local 3 Sheet Metal Workers. J J befriended me and several other of my classmates way back then. When he retired I took his place as Recording Secretary for Sheet Metal Workers Local 3. I have many memories over the years from him coming out for my bachelor party to great times at the picnics and Dad´s Day outings as well as every other Local 3 event that I can remember. A lot of fun and a few grumpy conversations. I will sure miss the talks. My heart felt condolences to his family and friends.

I got into Local 3 as a pre apprentice in 1997. JJ was one of thr first journeyman I got to work with. He was very knowledgeable, talented and could be a little gruff. But he was always fun to work with and taught me many useful skills for the trade. He was a damn good Recording Secretary for the Local as well. My condolences to the family, and rest in peace JJ.

John was the best guy to do everything with and no matter what if a cabin party, stop at a bar or relaxing at Cork's or someone's house John was always the funniest guy.He gave several guys their nickname such as Bandit and Junior and several others.Quick wit and cared about everyone.Meeting all the J's in the Johnson family was a pleasure.Could not fine a better people.I remember the night John and I were going to a party at Carl Nocitas cabin and John said we had to give his sister Jeanette and her friend a ride to Sandy's Escape. Her friend Liz was very "cute". Well thanks to John's willingness to help his sister --Liz and I have been together 59 years. Thanks buddy. You were the best.
