Julia Quasny Obituary

Julia May Caddell (Quasny), 93, peacefully passed away in hospice care in Illinois on 9/7/2025. She was born on June 25, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to Amanda May (Mama May) Caddell and Jerome Caddell. Julia grew up in Detroit, where she dedicated her life to being a Jehovah's Witness at the age of 14. Julia spent her early years raising her family while living in various towns across Kansas, Michigan, and Illinois. During this time, she discovered a deep love for art. Her drawings were admired for their remarkable detail and lifelike quality, earning praise from all who saw them. Even a professional artist commissioned by Disney once remarked on her exceptional talent. Julia especially cherished her visits to the Chicago Art Museum, though her passion for art was something she continued to pursue throughout her life.

She is survived by her children, Gail (Carl) Downing, Bradley (Barb Stein) Bennett, Dora (Steven) Gray, Curtis (Gina) Quasny, and Craig (Cherita) Quasny. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven (Jodie) Bennett. Julia is also lovingly remembered by her 18 grandchildren and their spouses, and 24 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Julia will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. CST at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3020 IL-47, Morris, Illinois 60450.

Aunt Julie had the sweetest smile and the sweetest voice . . I always loved her .... Our whole family did . We didn´t get to keep contact as much as we would have liked though . She was so proud of the Caddell´s ... her siblings .... She helped me make copies of a lot of pictures of my dad . I´m grateful for all the stories she told me about our family . She´s gone to sleep, but when she wakes up we will be here to welcome her back . . Our love to Dora and Gail and Brad as they go through this difficult time
