Kandis Haggstrom Obituary

Haggstrom, Kandis L.
Age 67

Passed away on February 5, 2011 at her new residence in Chandler, AZ. Ms. Haggstrom had moved from Omaha to the Phoenix area to be closer to both of her sons. Kandis was born in Hebron, NE on June 10, 1943 and spent her early childhood there. She was the daughter of Dr. Richard and Martha Penry of Hebron. Kandis attended a private high school at Brownell Talbot in Omaha and later attended Kearney College (UNK), graduating with her Bachelors in both Nursing and Early Education in 1966. She was also a member of the Delta Zeta Society. Ms. Haggstrom became a full time art teacher with her late husband Raymond Haggstrom and taught school in Albion, Aurora and Omaha, until they started their own business. The Haggstrom's would later open up liquor stores in both Iowa and Nebraska. Kandis was a loving wife, mother and friend and had varied interests with her community. She is survived by her 2 sons, Shawn Haggstrom, Bunkerville, NV; and Shane Haggstrom, Chandler, AZ; and 1 sister, Deborah Penry, Deluth, MN.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Lakeside Hills Club House at 17040 Frances St., in Omaha, NE on October 29, 2011 from 12Noon until 2pm for both family and friends. BURIAL will be a Private Service for family members in Belgrade, NE.
