It's many years later, and want to say Sensei Kyle was one of the most humble and yet dangerous Martial Artists I have ever met. He was the only man I believed who could actually execute the famous Karate "One strike, one kill". It's been almost 13 years since his passing and I still miss him and tell stories about him to my students. Oss.

To the Watson and Vaughn Families: I'm a better person for having met and worked with Kyle. A handshake, a hug, and a smile that's Kyle. He improved the atmosphere of any room just be entering it. I will miss him.

To Monica, Kyle Jr, Keairra and Kaleigh, I want you to know that Kyle was another big brother to me and I loved him very much. He always gave me advice about life and told me what movies to watch or avoid. I am fortunate to go on many outings with him while opening and checking out stores. We would jam to various music to get us in the mood to work and drive long distances. During many openings the crew of stores would be nervous of the business, and Kyle and I would just smile at each other and yell "Yeaaaaaaahhhh boyeeeee" followed by a "Get er done". He always made life more fun! I will always keep him and your family in my heart! God Bless!

Kyle Watson was and will always be my BROTHER! He was and is an extraordinary man of God; he was an extraordinary martial artist that lived up to his values. He so richly enhanced my life, and he helped me to become a better man of God and a better martial artist. I miss his presence. But, I rejoice in the fact that he is now basking in the radiance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Chaplain (CPT) Vincent L. Hardy (101 Airborne Division, Ft Campbell, KY)

Monica, Kyle Jr, Keairra, Kaleigh and the entire Vaughn and Watson families:

My heart is so heavy for you all right now. I am praying to God that he will keep you wrapped in his wonderful arms of comfort. I pray that God will also give you the strength to comfort one another during these times as well.

None of us can know the day or time when we will be called up to meet our heavenly father, so we must live our lives as if today can be our last. I want to share a few words that were written by my friend.

…If You Knew

As the door opened, the two friends met with an affectionate hug.
The smile on their faces illustrated the joy in their hearts.
Their conversation was joyous, but almost insignificant.
Their visit complete, they went their own way with a wave of good-bye.
The visit was nice, nothing special, just enjoyable and pleasant.
Which of the friends were you? How would you have acted…if you knew?

If you knew the future, would you regret the past?
Would the morning after bring with it pride from the day before?
If you knew at the sunset that you see would have no sunrise,
Would it impact your dreams during the night?
Would you change the past if you knew the future?
What a dream it would be to live today and know tomorrow.

If you knew that the hug in your arms would be the last,
How long would you hold on…how tight would you squeeze?
If the smile that you see would be the last time that you would see it,
What would you appreciate about it…how much would you admire it?
It is so easy to take for granted those things that are plentiful.
The future holds the key to the now.

If you knew that the words that you spoke would be the last,
What would you say…would they be words of anger or joy?
If you knew that the wave of your hand was not that of a mere departure,
How fervently would you wave…would it last until they were out of sight?
At the departure do you stop and wonder if there will be a reunion?
So, perhaps it is the now that holds the key to the future.

The verdict: pretend as if you do know that the day…
The day that you have will be the last…the hug, the smile will be the last.
Enjoy every sunrise…every hug…every word…every wave.
Enjoy them as if they were the last so that neither one has a regret.
Live everyday with the earnest hope of another…but
Live every day as …If You Knew.

You touched so many lives. You were my friend, my teacher of Kaju Ryu Jujitsu, my motivator and most of all family. I have many fond memories & will hold them close. Although I am sad you had to leave us, I know I will meet you again one day. Death is not the end; Death is the beginning.

You always said the Tiger symbolized you in Kaju Jujitsu and I agree. The Tiger is stealth and strength and you were always a strong guiding force.

You will be greatly missed,

Kyle lived life to its fullest. In the relatively short time he was on this Earth, he lived and enjoyed life more than some people who are here decades longer. He had so much passion for the Lord, his family, his martial arts and Godfather’s Pizza. We had many conversations at Godfather’s Pizza when he sat on the other side of my cube. I am fortunate to have known him and to have worked with him. He will be missed but not forgotten.

June 18, 2010

Watson-Vaughn Family, We were so sorry to hear about Kyle. He was such a wonderful and caring person. He was so giving of himself and was a great teacher of the Martial Arts and we will miss him terribly.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Kyle and I shared many memories growing up, of course that is what best friends do. We were virtually inseparable. To list a favorite memory would be impossible for me. I loved to come over and have dinner especially when "mom's" spaghetti was on the menu. Kyle loved to come over and whenever my mom made brownies. Even though after high school we went our separate ways, God reconnected us 10 years ago. It was a glorious deal. We talked about God adn what a joy it was to serve Him. He came and preached at our church, and we knew that together with God on our side we would advance the Kingdom of God mightily.
My condolences go out to the family. I pray that our God will comfort you and be your strength in the coming days ahead.

I worked with kyle many years ago, at Reed Travel Group. Kyle alway's brightened everyones day either with a smile or something funny to say or just the way he would put a friendly hand on your shoulder with those big teddy bear like paws! I will never forget how he looked out for me one time when he was at his second job at the Ranch Bowl, there was a band playing there this one night I had come to see and I didn't know kyle was working that night, but when I walked in, he saw me right away and since I had came to the club by myself that night, He looked out for me like I was family! maybe his(older,by ten years!) sister!! I felt like I had my own personal body guard for the night! He even escorted me back to where the band was at the end of the night, to get an autographed picture!! Thank-You Kylie!(I sometimes called him that) I will alway's remember what a special gift from god, you were. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends through this difficult time. And may they be comforted in the memories they share. "For nothing that is loved, is ever lost, and He was loved so much". May God Bless You.

Bruh, you've always been "Big Kyle" to me. I remember the nights of being in the R&D department of Godfathers being used as a "test subject".....lol. We had alot of fun on those nights and I 'll always miss your big hugs that made me think that you were trying to kill me. Your gentle nature, loving spirit, and dedication to things that were greater than yourself, will be your legacy. You were taken much too soon, but you'll ALWAYS be family to me and my family. I only met Kyle once, right after Roger Backstrom took over the B.P. store. He was a very generous person. I was the only one working that morning and he offered to jump in and help because the phones were ringing off the hook. A typical godfathers employee, ready to help even when you are not being paid or when it wouldnt help advance you. I am so sorry for your loss, our prayers are with you and yours.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Kyle well, but the times that I did see him over these past few years, he was always very pleasant and caring. It was obvious to me that he loved his wonderful wife and children very much.

Mere words alone can never salve the pain from the loss of a loved one. It is especially difficult when it occurs so suddenly and at a young age. To my dear cousin Monica and the beautiful children that you created with your best friend, high school sweetheart and beloved husband: I pray that you find solace in knowing that you have lots of support and an abundance of love. My sincerest condolences also go out to Kyle's parents, siblings, my Uncle Cleveland and Aunt Shirley and the rest of the Vaughn & Watson families. May Kyle rest in paradise forever.

God bless,

"Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more. Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless."

June 17, 2010

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
