Lloyd Vincent Obituary

Age 75

Norfolk, NE. Mr. Vincent died at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha on May 11, 2013. He had complications after suffering a fall at home while caring for his loving wife, Myrna, who was on hospice care at the time of his accident. Mrs. Vincent died at their home on May 4, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lloyd Earl Vincent born January 26, 1938, in Weatherford, OK, to Henrietta Myrtle (Herron) and Mack Vincent. Lloyd grew up in Hydro, OK. Graduated from Hydro High School in 1956. Graduated from Pharmacy School at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, in 1960. Lloyd joined the Army Reserves in the fall of 1960 and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis and his tour of duty was in Fort Hood Texas. During this time of military service, Lloyd also worked as a pharmacist in Oklahoma City for Conrad-Marr Drug Company, Taylor Pharmacy, and AMC Pharmacy. Lloyd married Myrna Marie Ritter on December 27, 1963 in Oklahoma City. In July 1966, Myrna and Lloyd moved to Norfolk to own and operate Gibson Pharmacy, which now operates as Lloyd's Drug Mart. Lloyd was a past board member for Wells Fargo Nebraska and AAA Nebraska. Mr. Vincent cared deeply for his family and his loyal employees of Lloyd's Drug Mart. He was passionate about small business and its importance to our country. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, the Oklahoma Sooners, and playing golf in Florida where he spent winters with Myrna. He is survived by his only son, Christopher, and his wife, Alisa Vincent, of Coeur d'Alene ID, and his two granddaughters, Stella Grace and Sadie Jane; brother Mac D. Vincent, Jr. of Rush Springs OK; sister Virginia and her husband Fred Cousino of Grand Rapids, MI; and his twin brother and business partner Boyd and his wife Carolyn Vincent of Rapid City, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Vincent, and his wife, Myrna Vincent.
MEMORIAL SERVICES 2pm, Friday, May 17, 2013, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Norfolk. CELEBRATION OF LIFE at Divots Conference Center, Norfolk from 3-7pm Friday. Reverend Lee Weander will officiate. VISITATION at Home for Funerals on Thursday, May 16 from 4-7pm. Dual services are planned as Mr. Vincent's wife, Myrna Marie (Ritter) Vincent passed away May 4, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family the family has established the Myrna and Lloyd Vincent Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, 227 W. Norfolk Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701. The funds will be used for comfort items for those fighting cancer in Northeast Nebraska. HOME FOR FUNERALS
