This is very, very strange, but I live in Aurora, Illinois and Ted Miller was my dad's uncle. He built several houses there and I am doing research on what I thought was one of them. In doing internet research, I came across this obituary for Marcia Miller who would have been my dad's cousin. If you are intereste din any of the Miller family history, there are a few of the older Millers around.

I knew Marcia, Alan, Ted and John many years ago when I ran the Fine Jewelry division at Brandeis. Marcia, Ruth, Lou Diesing and I became friends. They included me at their luncheons. I remember Ted and John coming in and shopping for their friends. I always thought the world of Marcia and my dear friend and assistant, Elsie Babcock, always looked forward to Marcia, the boys and the rest of the family and friends stopping in to purchase something special or just to chat. I was proud to be her friend. I moved away from Omaha many years ago with my job which then took me all over the U.S. and now am back in Omaha. I wish I could have reconnected with her. She was a very special person in my life.

TO the Baer family - my deep sorrow and condolence to you at this time of loss. While Macia did "it all" with taste and flare - we must not forget her great sense of humor. I am reminded of the grand addition to her home for her Mother, Ruth's accommodations. When invited to see the finished work Ruth was not particularly impressed with a specific room saying " what could this be for, it is entirely too small" Without cracking a tiny smile Marcia simple looked at her and said - Mother - this is your elevator! Later - there was a grand dinner to celebrate. This was just the way things went - you never knew, but it was always with charm - I, along with my Mother Marjorie will truly miss her. Thanks to the family for sharing.

When I was active in Bellevue Marcia and her late husband, Alan, were quiet ("don't make a fuss") but dependable supporters of many projects and activities promoted by then-Mayor Bob Haworth.
She was always a warm and gracious lady.

Dear Ted, Kathy & John,
I just received the news about your Mom. Whether expected or not I know how the reality of the moment effects the emotions. My heart goes out to the entire family during this challenging time. It's quite ironic that I just received this news. Today I was telling my business partner stories about our childhood and your Mom. There are so many things I'd like to say to pay tribute to Marcia. As inseparable as we were from childhood to young adults I can't say enough about how she always made me feel part of the family and I'm a better person for it. She taught me to accept people for what they are, not what they have, to be generous, charitable and most importantly to never expect anything in return for helping others. Instead your life rewards will come back to you 10 fold for your efforts. To close I will share a little secret with you all. There are a handful of people I was fortunate enough to meet at a young age that helped inspire my life path. Both your Mom & Alan are amongst those people. I wish I would have received the news sooner so I could fly in for the services. Miss you all and I wish you the very best!
