Dear Frank, Shari, & Mike,
I don't know if you remember me, but I lived on your circle across from you when Willow Wood was 1st developed. My name is Christine Kyral-Flott. I use to play with Marla when we were kids (my sister Cheryl too). I had such great memories of my friendship time with Marla. We had a lot of fun! My mom (Carol) called me last night to tell me the bad news. My heart just broke! Even though I haven't seen her in many years, the great memories are still vivid. Please know that you all are in my thoughts & prayers. May you find strength in God through this terrible tragedy. Marla is in a wonderful new world & we will all meet her again some day. May God Bless & Take Care of you all,
Brian Pinaire

Dear Piccolos and Littles,
I probably had not seen Marla in 20 years, but when I heard the news it felt like yesterday. Frank, Sherry, and Mike, you are like family to the Ansteys--and thus the Pinaires as well; and to the Littles, while I have not had the pleasure to meet you, I know you to be great people. Look to one another for strength and carry on the legacy of your wonderful wife/daughter/mother/ sister. Regards, Brian Pinaire

We wish to express our deep sympathy in the loss of Marla. When she was in Jr. High I used to ride my bike around the circle and many times she would ride with me. Sometimes she would quit after going around just the first half and then wait for me to come around from the other half. I would call her "half-track".
I didn't see her much in the following years, until last October when I started working at Hy-Vee. It was great to get to know her again. She even remembered the "half-track". She was a very great lady and will be missed by many.

Mr. & Mrs. Piccolo,
I have not seen Marla in years, but when I received the news, just like many others I was shocked. I can not begin to understand how you and Marla's husband & children are feeling. I can only say how sorry I am to hear of your loss & say you are all in my prayers. She & Michael were both sweet children & I very much enjoyed babysitting them many years ago. Remember she is always in your hearts & she really never will leave you. My sincerest sympathies.

Steve, Elace, and Erica,
We are greatly saddened by the tragedy your family has suffered. Marla was...well, she was an incredible human being, and everytime I spoke to her, or read an e-mail from her, I could always feel the love and warmth emanating from her. She just made me feel valued. From reading the other entries here, I see I was not alone. And you, Steve, Elace, and Erica, are not alone, either. We are all here for you: my family, and the countless others that your family has touched. The wonderful memories of the loving person that Marla was will live on in each of us. But, even so, she will be missed.

Frank and Sherry,
I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't seen Marla since we were kids, but it sure hurt to hear the news. More than 25 years have passed, but I still remember Marla and I playing together when we were young. She was a great girl then, I can only imagine how great of a mother and wife she was later. Just know that I gave my kids a hug the other night with her on my mind.

Frank and Sharon-
You do not know me personally, even though, we used to patronize Piccolo Florist when we lived in Omaha. I learned of your family's loss from my mother, Marilyn Gammel.
No one ever really knows just the "right words" to say to someone who has just suddenly lost a loved one. Probably because there just aren't the "right words" to say at such a very difficult time.
Please accept our deepest condolences and know that you and your family are remembered in prayer.
With Sympathy,
