Memories of Mary right from my heart -
So many of them, where would I start -
Your love and your laughter,
Your kindness and caring,
Embracing everyone,
Never once erring.
You are not gone,
You are just away.
You'll be present in everyone's heart every day.
Rest in peace Mary, you did a good job.

Cookies…thumbprints,
Fried chicken,
Straddling the steps to get to the frig,
The pantry…pungent smells of vanilla, cinnamon, allspice,
Moms and aunts laughing in the kitchen…
Dads and uncles hooting as Uncle Phil relentlessly teased the cousins,
Reading.
Sewing.
Knitting.
Fireworks.
Night sounds, sleeping on the screened porch.
St. Pius X.
St. Leo's.
Aunt Mary, godmother, for whom I was named,
Sharing her home and family,
Teaching her talents,
Loving and serving her God,
Loving and serving us all…
A legacy of children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren...
Living her example.
A holy woman.
God blessed us all through her.

To Family,
For nearly 60 years, for me, there was always the comfort of knowing that Aunt Mary's love was present and available to all who connected to her. Her generous spirit, deep respect, clear insights and maternal instincts came together in marvelous ways. Combined with Uncle Phil's outlook, quips and observations, family gatherings, although too few in number for those of us from 'back East', created a life time of memories. Having just visited Aunt Mary a few months ago and seeing her sustained sense of family well-being and witnessing her connections with daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her happiness was radiant. She'll remain a vibrant part of our lives as long as memories are repeated and stories are told. May she rest in peace.

Aunt Mary will always hold a special place in my heart. Full of love and laughter, as all the Bankers are.
I will never forget the week I came to stay on my own and slept on the front porch one summer. Aunt Mary made me feel like I was one of the family.
Love and prayers from my family, to all of you.

I will carry with me forever, Aunt Mary's great sense of humor and contagious laughter. How thrilling is was for me, to watch Aunt Mary and my mother (Maudie) whenever they were able to get together, laugh and talk as if there hadn't been a day they weren't together.
My love to you all.

Aunt Mary,
Thank you for being my Godmother. I'm sure your prayers have pulled me through any number of crises. In my experience, you showed everyone love and acceptance. In all the years that I lived close by, I never heard a judgmental word from you. What a true gift! We shared so many wonderful times at your house as children. You always made room for a few children more to come and enjoy time with you. I especially loved the smell of spring flowers in your garden and sitting with you in the back yard and watching the stars on a summer evening--waiting with jars and lids on the ready to catch fireflies. Thank you for helping to make my childhood so wonderful. Jesus surely greeted you with a loving embrace as he spoke: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Love, Sis

Mary was one of the sweetest most genuine people I've known. I only knew her during our time together at Parsons House but I could sense her character- full of strength and unconditional love. She will be missed.

I remember her larger than life smile and laughter. Embracing and sharing life. I loved to listen to her retell stories and laugh. As a child I loved to hear her and mom chatter as only sister do. She will be missed and yet I know she is dancing at heaven's gate.
I think of you fondly with every remembrance Phil 1:3

We can love completely without complete understanding. This is how I remember Aunt Mary.
Full of love and sincere understanding and compassion. I will always remember her wonderful sence of humor, big hearty laugh,:) what a wonderful woman she will be missed.
You are Loved.

Even in sadness I recall with much delight my wonderful Aunt Mary. Her laughter and love of life brightened up my childhood. The sound of Aunt Mary and mother (Mabel Erskine) laughing together still echoes, one of my fondest memories.
May perpetual light shine upon her.
With love,
Theresa (Erskine)Zimmerman
