Maurice DeCabooter Obituary

DeCABOOTER-Maurice J. "Mose", was born May 30, 1917 and passed away on January 11, 2009 in Scottsdale, AZ following complications from a severe gout attack. Mose served his Country in the Armed Services during World War II in Europe. He later returned home to Omaha to become a cattleman. He owned and operated a feedlot while he ran a successful livestock commission company. He later developed his feedlot into condominiums, leading to his retirement in AZ. He loved the sunny climate, playing golf and dabbling in the commodities. Mose will be remembered for his honesty and integrity, but mostly for his commitment to his family. Maurice is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Darlene, two daughters, Maureen (Cary) Halpin of Seattle, WA and Madeline (Michael) Josoff of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Mick (Debbie) Halpin, Charie (Mike) Crisler, Craig (Liz) Halpin, Christie (Jason) Grove, Leslie (Mark) Simanek, Renee (Jason) Grow, Michael (Trish) Josoff as well as twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by two nephews, Art (Mary) DeCabooter, Bill (Jan) DeCabooter and two nieces, Cathy (Gary) Metzger and Judy Ballard. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy and Art DeCabooter. Memorial services will be held in Omaha and Seattle.

As a young boy that lived across the street from the DeCabooter's, I got to know the DeCabooters for a short time, and they were a great caring, and loving family. My heart goes out for their loss.

Mrs. DeCabooter~
On this day in 1946, you stood up for my grandparents, Herb and Lorraine Keckler on their wedding day. I remember growing up and hearing lovingly of the "DeCabooters." Now on this day, we send our deepest sympathy and pray that you and your family are comforted by sweet memories and find strength from those who love you. My grandpa (1994) and grandma (2008) have passed but I am absolutely sure they would want us to reach out with love to you and your family ~ God's Peace ~
Love, The Family of Herb and Lorraine Keckler

I send my sympathy on behalf of the Bernie and Agnes Hobza family, from the Stock Yards group. As a child growing up I remember the good times my Mom and Dad had with the DeCabooters
