Edmund was like a second father to me (and many). I met Father Edmund in 72/73 while in the St Benedict's Youth Group in California. I ran away from home in 10th grade and went to him at the church rectory. He took me in for a day or two understanding me and my pain. We (youth group) had a surprise 30th birthday party for him at my parent's house. I, like you all, have many good memories of Edmund and also saw and experienced first hand what we all describe here, a caring, giving, funny and sensitive man. When I sneeze in front of my only son, I sneeze like he did back then. My son laughs like I did. I love you Edmund and you know I always will. Miss you dearly. Thanks for visiting me in my dream the other day and comforting me for the loss of you in all our lives. Say hi to my Dad. Love you....

Dearest DeCabooter family,

I am so terribly saddened the pain you must surely feel at this new hurdle! To lose Ed is still another great challenge in this year of many! Our prayers, thoughts and yes, tears are with you! May these lovely thoughts before ours bring comfort!

Love, Nora & Jim

We love you and miss you, Uncle Ed!

Thankyou to all have written such lovely things about Edmund/Bob. A bright light has gone out of our lives, but what a beautiful thing to discover this guestbk only today (11/13/08) and see so many supportive notes about the fantastic man we knew. His family graciously acknowledges the kindness of you all to share such heartfelt feelings of him and thus make us realize how many were so positively affected by him in this life.

Edmund was my best buddy in AZ - would spend nearly every afternoon having a cold beer and playing "scratchies". He will always be dear to me as well as all that knew him--I miss him dearly!

Edmund:
I'm one of many who thought you were just about the best person I'd ever had the pleasure of knowing...even if it was only at the Fry's Customer Service Desk....LOL....You made life better for so many. I will miss you and feel a little sorry for myself and others that we don't have you in our lives anymore.
You were more than anyone knew...
A friend,

I first met Edmond when he worked at Store 1 in Phoeonix. He was most gracious and he went out of the way to help you. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He is now in no pain and is living an awesome lifestyle in the loving arms of the most heavenly Father ever. We will miss him but we will never forget him.

Bobby and I were roomates both in college and graduate school back in the late sixties and early seventies. We have remained good friends all the years since then. He spoke to me often about all his many friends over the years from California, Oklahoma and Arizona. I know you all will miss him as I do. I'm so very sorry for our loss of such a good brother and friend. He will not soon be forgotten, not someone with such a big and generous heart!
