Mildred Datisman Obituary

Datisman, Mildred L.

Mildred L. Datisman passed away in Omaha on June 23 after a short illness. She was the youngest of 3 children born to Arthur and Mattie Allen of Livingston, WI. After graduating from high school, she received a two year college certificate to teach in rural schools. She taught for two years before marrying Carl O. Datisman in 1942. Two daughters were born: Martha in 1944 and Myrna in 1953. In 1965 she graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from Platteville State University. She taught Kindergarten 23 years at the Bloomington Community Schools in Bloomington, WI. They lived in the North Andover, WI area for 45 years where Carl farmed. Upon retirement, they moved to Dubuque, IA. Carl died in 1990 and Mildred moved to Omaha to be near her daughter Martha in 1995. She's enjoyed living at New Cassel Retirement facility for the past 5 years where she made many new friends. She leaves behind family and friends who will miss her dearly because of her loving heart for the young and old. Survivors are daughters, Martha Peterson, and Myrna McPhail and husband Rick; grandsons, Brendon Peterson and wife Kelly, Noah Helt and wife Carie, and Eli Helt and wife Lisa; 4 great grandchildren, Chloe, Joshua, Nathan, and Seth Helt; and 2 step-great grandsons, Cody and Ryan Anderson.
BURIAL was in Livingston, WI on June 27. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be Sunday, July 31, at New Cassel Chapel, 900 N. 90 St. at 2:30pm.
