Phyllis Jeter Obituary

Born in Boelus, NE. Preceded in death by son, Timothy Douglas; and grandson, Scott Lewis. Survived by beloved husband of 41 years, John A. Jeter; daughters, Connie Dober (Marvin), Pamela Comer (Bill), and Lisa Jeter; grandchildren, Dawn Allsman (La Mont), Tami Davis (Jeff), Brea Nelson (David), Laurie McCreery (Kenny), and Pamie Lynn Schwab; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Curtis Sorensen (Jan); and sister, Gladys Kaiser. John and Phyllis were married in 1971. Because of transfers with John's firm, they lived in Omaha, Dallas, TX, and Denver, CO, before returning to Omaha in 2002 to be with family and old friends. Both John and Phyllis graduated from UNO and have been involved in alumni and other UNO activities. Phyllis was actively involved with the Assistance League (president), Opera Omaha, and other civic endeavors. While in Denver, Phyllis worked with abused women, and in Dallas she volunteered at a safe-house for abused women and children.
VISITATION begins Sunday 9am, with the family receiving friends 4-6pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Monday 10:30am at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 11810 Burke St. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials will be directed by the family. HEAFEY-HEAFEY-HOFFMANN
