Preceded in death by parents, Adolph and Emma Hakel; wife, Charlotte and son, Mike; brothers Tom and "Buster"; sisters Claire and JoAnn.
Survived by children, Mark Hakel (Sara), Steve Hakel, Mary Jo Blum (Todd), Annie Stanek (Scott), and Katie Hakel; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Sister Angeline Hakel and Mary Ann Holman.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 5 to 6:30 p.m., with VIGIL SERVICE at 6:30 p.m., at Mary Our Queen Church (3405 S. 118th St). MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Wednesday, Feb. 28th, 10:30 a.m., Mary Our Queen Catholic Church. Interment, Calvary. Memorials Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital and Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.
