Raymond Brazda, Sr.

September 29, 1937 - July 7, 2025

Raymond S. "Ray" Brazda, Sr., age 87, of Tilden, Nebraska, formerly of Waterloo, Nebraska, died Monday, July 7, 2025, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Services will be held at a later date.

Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Brazda Sr., son of Lloyd and Mary (Rozgall) Brazda, was born September 29, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in south Omaha and graduated from South High School.

On September 19, 1959, Ray was united in marriage to JoAnn T. Olsufka in Duncan, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Kim, Ray, Jr., and Michelle. The Brazda family moved to Waterloo, Nebraska, in 1975, and later in 2020 Ray and JoAnn moved to Tilden, Nebraska. Ray was a drummer for many decades for the band "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." He was also the state horseshoe champion of Nebraska for several years.

Ray died on July 7, 2025, at the age of 87 years, nine months, and eight days.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Tilden; children, Kim of LaVista and Michelle of Tilden; daughter-in-law, Tracy of Waterloo; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mary; son, Ray, Jr.; and his siblings, Lloyd Brazda, Joe Brazda, Rita Schamp, and Dolores Krueger.
