Richard Ptacek Obituary
Age 63
Born to Richard and Rita Ptacek in Omaha on May 8, 1950. He was the oldest of 10 children and grew up in Plattsmouth. Rick was a nature lover and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and walking. He had a generous heart toward his family, especially on birthdays and at Christmas. He also sponsored several children through "Children's International" over the years. Rick loved music, was a prolific writer and comes from a large extended family. Preceded in death by his father Richard F. and brother John. Survived by mother Rita F.; brothers and sisters, Stephen (Vicki), Michael (Robin), Patrick, Thomas (Joann), Robert, Mark (Amy), Rita Jeanne (Dave) Wesely, Theresa Ptacek; sister-in-law Patty Ptacek; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
VISITATION Friday, 5-7pm with a Wake Service-Rosary at 5:30pm, all at Braman Mortuary, 72 St. Chapel. FUNERAL MASS Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2706 Leavenworth St. Interment: Calvary Cemetery. Visit www.bramanmortuary.com

Please accept my condolences to all of Rick's family and friends. Rick was the first person I met and became friends with when my family moved to Plattsmouth in August of 1963. I could never say enough good things about Rick. It is sad in a huge number of ways that life was not kinder to him. His parting leaves a big space in the lives of many.
