December 13, 1953 - January 16, 2022
Age 68. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bob" and Patricia Nelson; wife, Shirley A. Nelson; sisters, Linda Sturdevant, Barbara J. Samson; and beloved niece, Tammy Gatrost. Survived by his son, James "Jim"; loving partner, Julie Monaco; granddaughters, Avery, Ella and Juniper Nelson; bonus family, Al (Jenny) Monaco, Nina (Sam) Toelle, Nick (Dani) Monaco; bonus grandchildren, Zander, Karson, Reid, Patrick, Olivia, David, Giovanni and a host of other loving family and friends.
CELEBRATION of LIFE will be Saturday, January 29, from 2-6pm at VFW - Post #2503, 8904 Military Rd, Omaha NE. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Humane Society or Live on Nebraska.

My cousin, Shirley Geier, was married to Boomer. I have not seen Boomer in many years and I do not live in Omaha, but I DO have happy memories of Boomer.

My heart aches now that Boomer has passed away. But I have been comforted to have been blessed to have known him and to have had him be part of our family and a part of Mike's life as well as a family member, employer, great friend and a genuine person. His generosity, caring spirit inspires us. His example of how to live after receiving a second chance at life has been wonderful to see. I will miss him terribly but his spirit lives on and I am blessed to have so many great memories to hold onto. I am imagining his reunion with family members who have passed and look toward the day, we will meet again. Rest in peace Boomer!
